Original Experiment-Procedure
1. Mark the petri dish into thirds: control, Black Pepper and cinnamon
2. Mix 4 tblsp of gelatine in 2 cups of boiling water
3. Pour into dish
4. Refrigerate until set
5. Swab bacteria, using a cotton bud, from garbage disposal in kitchen sink
6. Wipe the cotton bud in a zig zag motion across the gelatine
7. Add 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and pepper in the marked section
8. Put the lid back on the dish and put on your kitchen bench and then wait for the bacteria to grow

Altered Experiment 1 - Procedure
Since the gelatine in my original experiment has melted, I have repeated the above procedure but with salt instead of black pepper which is causing the gelatine to melt.
Altered Experiment 2-Procedure
Since the gelatine in my altered experiment has also melted, I have repeated the procedure of the original experiment but with agar instead of gelatine. I have also swabbed the bacteria from my mouth instead of the kitchen sink as I believe some bacteria from the kitchen sink may have caused the gelatine to melt.
1. receive petri dish with agar from teacher
2.Mark the petri dish into thirds: control, Black Pepper and cinnamon

4. Wipe the cotton bud in a zig zag motion across the gelatine
5. Add 1/8 tsp of cinnamon and pepper in the marked section
7. Put the lid back on the dish and put on your kitchen bench and then wait for the bacteria to grow

Procedure on how to make agar (I did not make the agar)
1. In a heat proof bowl, stir half a teaspoon of the agar powder into 1/4 cup of hot water.
2. Place the bowl in the microwave and bring to the boil for one minute.
3. make sure the agar powder is completely dissolved and the colour of the liquid is clear
4.pour it into the petri dish then put it in the fridge
